This plant is easily distinguished, as nothing else looks anything like it.
It is short (3"-10"), and has no chlorophyll. The stems are thick, with
brownish scale-like leaves - they strongly resemble pine-cones. The flowers
are small and cream-colored. This plant grows from the roots of oak trees.
